An internet transport firm, Mr. Taxi, has threat­ened a lawsuit against a , Iyke, for allegedly impersonating as the owner of the company.

The chief operating officer of the firm, Austin Nnaemeka, who stated this in Awka, alleged that the had posted on his Instagram page and other social media purporting to be the company chief executive officer. He described the as “an impostor who had no contribu­tion whatsoever in the setting up of the company”.

Nnaemeka explained that the actor had earlier been contract­ed as a brand ambassador of the company, but was relieved of the role following his claim of ownership of the company. He explained: “ Iyke is my friend and I brought him in as a brand ambassador of the com­pany, just like other celebrities, but he started asking questions that were out of his scope.

“He later started looking for a way to sway us into making him a shareholder, and then started parading himself as the owner of the company. He was warned once, and again, making it two times before we relieved him of his job.

“I am using this opportunity to state emphatically that Mr. Jim Iyke is not the owner of Mr. Taxi, and has no contribution in the company. That is what I want to tell you today. We won’t hesitate to slam a legal action against him should he continue with this claim.

According to Nnaemeka, the establishment of the company was informed by the need for swift mobility, which has been crippled by the ban on com­mercial motorcyclists in major towns in the south east.
