Mr. Mustapha has resumed duty as state commissioner of six criminal suspects paraded.

Among the paraded were the Ikechukwu Udensi (Ikanda), suspected to have commanded the slaughter of Ndubisi Nwokolo last year (2018) and said to have been part of the gang that burnt down a police station in Ajalli, Orumba North, Anambra State.

Making the disclosure, Monday, at the command headquarters, recalled that last year, a million naira bounty was placed on Ndubuisi Nwokolo’s for allegedly commanding and leading the squad that butchered their victim with machetes and cutlasses.

He said that it took the combined effort of police operatives attached to the command operation Udoka and Special Anti- Robbery Squad who raided a criminal hideout at Menax in Onitsha to arrest Udensi.


He added that the allegedly attacked the Ajali police station in Orumba-North council area, setting it ablaze and carting away police rifles. He recalled that hoodlums suspected to be IPOB members attacked Ajali division, burnt down the station including three police patrol vehicles and other exhibits.

“The suspects equally carted away three AK47 rifles from the Division armoury as well as injured the DCO who was on visiting round.

“As a result, the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad embarked on aggressive manhunt of the perpetrators and arrested five of the culprits noting that upon interrogation the suspect took operatives to their hideout and one AK47 rifle was recovered while investigations were still on-going after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution,” he said.

The police commissioner also informed that police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad arrested 25 year old ex convict, Chiamobi Amauwa at Upper Iweka area of Onitsha after a bus the suspect and his cohorts allegedly use to rob unsuspecting travellers was accosted. “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect belonged to a one-chance robbery syndicate terrorising Onitsha and its environs using a commercial bus.

He said that some exhibits recovered from the suspect included one locally made pistol and operational vehicle L300 with Reg. No. DRK 85XA.

assured the citizenry that all hands were on deck to ensure the safety and security of all and sundry in the state while enjoining them not to hesitate to inform the police of any suspicious activities or persons in their neighbourhood.
