“We have been briefed and our professional services retained by Mr Maduka Basil Obikwelu and Peace Maduka of Isiogwugwu Village Eziama , Amanuke, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State whom we shall hereinafter be referred to as ‘’Our Clients’’ on their definite instruction we now write as follows.
‘’Sir, our clients have not known peace in the hands of the above-named suspects who conspired and levied war on our clients for reason best known to them.
“Sir, the suspects Charles Nnanwube, Theophilus and their gang in gestapo style met one of our clients, Basil, and started assaulting him with weapons such as machete and rods. As he was pleading with them for reason behind the ugly act, one of the suspects who was boasting that he is an AVG member ran home and came with a Pump Action and as he was about to shoot on our client Maduka , our client then ran away as he nearly escaped death in their hands.
“Sir, after dispossessing Basil of his two phones by stealing same, they told him that he may run but cannot hide. The suspects then rushed the sister, our second client Peace and started beating her as she sustained wounds in the hands of the suspects also.
‘’Sir, both our clients were beaten to coma. All pleas from our clients to the suspects for the reason behind the ugly act fell on deaf ears. They threatened that they must wipe away clients’ family. That eliminating the family and killing them all is an assignment they must do without any plea. Our clients are now hospitalized with various degrees of injuries. They are still looking for them to be eliminated,” the petition read in part.
The petition concluded, “Sir, as a law enforcement officer of the state with regards to the security of life and property, may you be pleased to use your good offices in calling the suspects to order and bring them to justice speedily and unravel the secrete behind the ugly acts to avoid breakdown of law and order. Nobody is above the law, hence this petition to your office.
“Thanks for your anticipated co-operation in matters of this kind as our client will avail your men with all relevant facts, evidence and logistics that will aid their investigation’’.
