has given graphic details of how a serving of the National Youths Service (NYSC), Miss Lilian Mgbanwa, was to death by a suspect (Chukwuemeka Eze) who is now in police net.

According to the force public relations officer, DCP. Frank Mba, the incident which happened in Mgbidi, Oru West Council area of the state, saw the 27-year-old Delta state-born victim meeting her untimely death just to her passing.

Parading the suspect alongside 19 others allegedly involved in various crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, murder and child-trafficking, Mba said that Chukwuemeka Eze confessed to raping and murdering Lillian Mgbanwa, who was deployed to Mgbidi, Oru West council area for her service year.

He also led the police to the forest part where her body was recovered, after admitting taking her smart phone which eventually implicated him.

The police chief said the suspects will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded. “I am at at the instance of the Inspector-General of Police. Here is Chukwuemeka Eze, who murdered an ex-, Lillian Mgbanwa, after raping her.

“On July 7, 2019, Eze, who pretended to be insane, took an android phone to the shop of one AhamefuleOnyeka for charging. Onyeka reported the development to the police in Oru West. This suspect was arrested and he confessed that he took away the ex-’s phone after raping her to death. This development is pathetic and worrisome, but we promise that justice will be served” he said.

In a similar development, the state police command has also paraded a biological son, daughter and a prospective son-in-law for allegedly conspiring to kidnap their 88-year-old father, Pa Njoku Louis.

This was just as Emmanuel Sunday, 29 and the prospective son-in-law disclosed that he had wanted to use the proceeds from the kidnap of his prospective father-in-law to organise the traditional wedding of Miss Chinaza Nwogu, the 19-year-old daughter of Pa Njoku.

DCP Mba, who addressed news men at the command headquarters, disclosed that the son of Pa Njoku, now at large, had conspired with his friend, Emmanuel Sunday from  OboamaEnyiogugu in AbohMbaise council of Imo state andboy friend of Chinaza Nwogu, had to kidnap his father.

He also revealed that the suspects had equally made away with their victim’s Sienna vehicle with which they had taken a loan of N40,000 from one Emeka Ejike from Nekede community in Owerri west council area of Imo state.

According to Mr. Mba, “The story of Pa Njoku is pathetic as his own son, his close friend Emmanuel Sunday who is a prospective in law and his sister Chinaza connived to kidnap their father so that from the proceeds Emmanuel would organize the traditional wedding of Chinaza who is already eight months pregnant.  They even also took away their victims Toyota Sienna car and used it to obtain a loan of N40, 000 from one Emeka Ejike who has also been arrested”.

He further disclosed that the suspects had earlier kidnapped five-year-old Deborah ChidimmaNganodim and had collected N1.2 million ransom.

He added, “the above suspects were arrested by operatives of Anti-kidnapping unit following a tip-off in connection with the kidnapping on 29 June, 2019. “The suspects who specialize in kidnapping within Mbaise and its environs have made useful statements to the police confessing to the crime, narrating the various roles they played in the kidnap operations”.

Mba commended the Imo state commissioner, RabiuLadodo for the achievements of the command following the launch of the Operation puff adder in the state, urging the people of the state to continue to partner with the police to serve them better.

However, fielding questions from journalists, Emmanuel Sunday said that the whole idea to kidnap his prospective father-in-law, Pa Njoku, was the idea of his own son. “Pa Njoku’s son who is my friend had told me that we have to kidnap his father so that I could raise money to organise the traditional wedding of his sister who is my girlfriend because she is already eight months pregnant”, he said.
