Traders in Igbudu Market as well as residents of the area in Warri live under siege following renewed hostilities between two rival cult groups. The fear was so intense that business premises, including filing stations and night joints hurriedly close businesses.
Security agencies were yet to respond to the situation as at the time of filling this report even as some ladies, who were running for their lives from the Hausa Quarters to the Warri Garage area, told journalists that they were dispossessed of their valuables by armed bandits believed to be members of one of the rival groups. It was also gathered that one of the ladies was stabbed with by the hoodlums.
Meanwhile, armed men in Red Bar Vigilante Security Organization based in the Warri Garage area, were seen coming out to provide security at about 9.00 pm on that fateful day. Some residents, who spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity, appealed to government security agencies, particularly the police, to rescue traders and residents of the area from the ugly situation by restoring normalcy.
