The Chief Ralph Uwazurui­ke led Movement for Ac­tualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (), oth­erwise called Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) says that 11 of its sustained various degrees of bullet wounds, while 26 others were being detained by police in Anambra state as a result its activities 19 anniversary celebration.

Uwazuruike, who made this disclosure through his Special Assistant on Media and Pub­licity, Mazi Chris Mocha, said that “the arrest was made by the Joint Taskforce, JTF, led by the Onitsha Police Area Com­mander, Mr. John Ohuagbaka, in Onitsha, on 21st and on 29th May, 19 years cele­bration of New Biafra”.

Chief Uwazuruike called on the police authority to release the non-violent Biafra agitators.

In a statement signed by Mazi Mocha, Uwazuruike said, “The police denial that only of IPOB were in the course of pulling down Biafran flags hoisted on electric poles along Obodoukwu road and oth­er strategic junctions does not hold water.
