Python Dance II: Troops arrest suspected armed robbers in Abia

By Sunday Agbo

The leadership of Ohanaeze Worldwide has warned Biafra agitators in the south-east states to shelve their activities, pending when the proposed operation would end in the zone. The body which also said it would not want the agitators to fall victim of the operation, warned that should President Muhammadu Buhari attempt to rig the 2019 election, Nigeria would be doomed.

A release in Abakaliki jointly signed by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, president general and secretary general of Ohanaeze Worldwide, said the people of the zone would not take of any form of intimidation of innocent and women by the military during the exercise.

It reads in part, “We thank the Southeast governors for their timely intervention to ensure that the military never confront , IPOB and coalition of Biafra groups during the Operation as the previous exercises never went down well with Ndigbo.

“Southeast is very peaceful, and any attempt to intimidate innocent youths and women will affect the electoral fortunes of President Buhari and southeast governors seeking reelection, and we insist that military should remain professional and friendly in carry out the operation III in a way that it will not attract negative voting during the presidential election on February 16, 2019 against President Buhari.

Though we commend the military for removing the roadblocks during the Xmas/ New Year seasons, we encourage them to maintain it until 2019 elections are over.

“We thereby call on Biafra agitators to cease fire in their operations till after general election. There should be no exhibition of Biafra flags, protest and disruption of political campaign of both presidential and gubernatorial candidates, as any attempt of such, the persons will fall victim of Operation III, as the case of Amasiri junction in Afikpo south where ignorant youths with Biafra caps fell victims of military on patrol recently. We plead with the military to release the innocent youths.

“We are calling Ndigbo to support Governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, David Umahi of Ebonyi and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu states, as these governors have done well.

“There is no need to change a winning team. We will resist any attempt to change any of these governors. With the crisis brewing in Imo state, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume will make a good governor.
