The student union government of the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo, , has condemned the indifferent of the state governor, Chief David Umahi, the ongoing national strike in universities and polytechnics.

The president, Comrade Njoku Francis Ogbonna, who doubles as the coordinator, National Joint Students Liberation Movement, made this claim in .

The president felt that Governor Umahi could have used as the chairman of South-East Governors Forum to canvass for quick resolution of the lingering industrial showdown by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) since November 4, 2018. He argued that the strike had kept students at home, turning them to political thugs and exposing them to varying degrees of criminality.

“It may be reasonable to think that may not probably determine the fate of the unending strike. But as a mouthpiece of all south east citizens, is sacrosanct and can go a long way in setting the pace for others to follow”, he said.

He further decried that the south east and, indeed, Ebonyi state, still had a very long way to go in her quest to achieve a reasonable height and stability in education.
