Nnamdi Azikiwe , Awka, Anambra state, has earnestly resumed its for the 2018/2019 first semester, today, March 4, 2019.

There was the rumour that the would reschedule resumption date in response to the shift in the dates across the country by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, last week.

However, the authorities of the institution, in a press release signed by the director, Information and Public Relations/Chief Protocol Officer, Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, last week restated that the school’s resumption date remained March 4, 2019.

The release reads in part, “This is to inform all students, lecturers, staff, parents/guardians and the general public that for the 2018/2019 first semester would commence on Monday, 4th March, 2019 as scheduled in the revised 2018/2019 academic calendar.

“Students are by this announcement advised to be in school from Monday as lectures will commence immediately”.

Orient Campus Gist, however, reports that the university hostels opened last Friday, as students returned to school after the over 3-month-old strike by lecturers, which had initially disrupted the academic .
