Evil triumphs when good people do nothing. The need for politicians with purposeful manifesto has led to most popular Nigerians taking up the challenge to join in the decision making process of the country. Amongst them is RnB singer, Banky Wellington who has admitted that his wife, Adesua Etomi, didn’t initially support his decision to venture into Nigerian politics. He revealed that she was worried over his decision to join the political game.
In a recent interview with a popular national daily, he revealed thus: “When I first had the conversation with my wife, she said she was worried about me getting into politics in Nigeria because it’s dirty and dangerous… and she didn’t want anything to soil me or harm me. I told her that yes she was right. Politics in Nigeria is very dirty and dangerous, but that’s because the good people always avoid it.’’
The ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ crooner is vying for the position of a senator representing Eti Osa Federal constituency in the forth-coming general elections.
