The Chairman Senate Committee on Employment, Labour and Productivity, Senator Abu Ibrahim, has said that and rise in prices of goods and commodities across the country mess of the N30,000 which President Muhammadu Buhari signed recently into law.

Senator Abu Ibrahim, who answered reporters’ questions after the Jum’at prayer at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, stressed that the rise in prices of goods and commodities in the markets across the country at the mention of increase in workers’ wages has become a common thing.

“This is why we always advise against the clamour for increase in wages, because we all know the implications,” the senator declared.

According to the him, while preparing for the N30,000 , the Senate made provision for increment in the federal funds allocation to state governments to augment their income to enable them implement the .

He expressed confidence that when all the recommendations which formed the are implemented, state governments and other employers of labour with more than 25 employees, would be able to conveniently pay the workers the new .
