Commissioner, Mustapha Dandaura, has ordered the and prosecution of persons found with unauthorised unmarked campaign vehicles, tinted plate numbers in the state as well as the impounding of such vehicles with effect from June 1, 2019.

This came on the heels of recent discovery that hoodlums now use such unmarked and branded vehicles to perpetrate crimes in the state in order to avoid detection by law enforcement agencies.

 

Announcing this yesterday via a statement, the Commissioner of , Mustapha Dandaura, through his Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, enjoined to ensure they repaint their branded campaign vehicles on or before June 1, 2019, adding that vehicles found in ’ convoys that contravene the instruction would not be left out in the disciplinary action.

“Information at the disposal of the command reveals that hoodlums in the state are using branded and unmarked plate numbers to perpetrate crime in the state. Such acts are not only unlawful but also constitute serious security threats to the public, which, if left unchecked, could worsen the security situation in the state.

 

“In view of the foregoing, the Commissioner of , CP Mustapha Dandaura, has ordered the and prosecution of persons using unmarked and masked vehicles without authorisation. The CP further enjoined in the state to repaint their branded campaign vehicles on or before June 1, 2019 or the command will be left with no option than to impound such vehicles, since electioneering campaigns are over,” the statement read.
