Uyo Disturbed by of motorcycles in perpetrating criminal activities in Uyo, state capital, the state command has put in place necessary security measures to arrest and prosecute persons found riding motorcycle() within Uyo metropolis.

The state commissioner of , CP Zaki Ahmed, who made this known, Saturday, expressed concern that civilians and security personnel were in the habit of flouting state government law restricting of motorcycles within Uyo, the state capital. Superintendent of (SP) Odiko Macdon, command’s public relations officer, (PPRO) in a statement made available to our correspondent in Uyo, reads in part, “the CP is perplexed and miffed at the manner in which some persons including security agencies have continued to flout the law restricting the use of motorcycles within Uyo metropolis. “For the avoidance of doubt, the state command wishes to inform the general public that the law prohibiting the use of motorcycles within Uyo metropolis is still in force.” The commissioner of
warned that, effective Monday, April 15, 2019, the command would a massive enforcement of the law prohibiting the use of motorcycles within the
metropolis. The command further warned violators to desist forthwith, as those arrested would be prosecuted immediately
