The Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated the former deputy governor of the state, Dr Chris Akomas on his confirmation as Abia Commissioner at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The former deputy governor and 29 others were Tuesday confirmed as the commissioners representing their states at RMAFC with Elias Mbam from Ebonyi state reappointed as chairman of the Commission.
Abia APC, through its publicity secretary, Comrade Benedict Godson, said that the confirmation of Akomas was a well-deserved appointment for a team leader who believes in the growth of the party and development of the country.
Godson described the ex-deputy governor, APC BoT member and former Abia state commissioner for lands and survey as a resourceful and committed leader whose success in everything he engaged in second to none.
“This is a man that has served in so many capacities. Dr Akomas epitomises experience, diligence, intelligence, capacity and ability. We are not surprised at all because the man is well educated and has proven himself in all sectors he had previously served. He’s a PhD holder in Psychology. In fact, we are wishing him success as we already know he will impress everyone with his outstanding knowledge”, he concluded.
The confirmation of Dr Akomas and the 29 others was sequel to the adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs.
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had, in February 2019, forwarded the names of 30 nominees to the senate for confirmation.
