Atiku may lose Southeast over alleged N3bn bribe

Atiku may lose Southeast over alleged N3bn bribe - the south east, the presidential election”, the president, Southeast, over, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Atiku

By Sunday Agbo, Abakaliki

of Youth Council, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro said investigation is ongoing the three billion naira alleged inducement of Igbo leaders on the endorsement of Atiku. He stated this in a chat with Orient Daily in Abakaliki.

He said that if the allegation was true, Ndigbo youths would have no option other than to declare support for a presidential candidate who would get Igbo youths votes at the February 2019 presidential election, adding that the outcome of the election would be a shocker to those who had mortgaged Ndigbo collective interest at Nike Lake.

“We are weighing different options, including 2023 Igbo presidency. We are expecting Atiku to categorically declare for one term project and sign a pact with Igbo youth leaders before 31st December 2018, and President Buhari to assure Ndigbo that 2023 is not a fluke or a tag to lure the Igbo into voting him. January meeting of Igbo youths/agitators outcome will be in overall interest of Ndigbo.

“It has been uncovered that all is not well with the Atiku stronghold in the , especially with the unprofessional way things are done in piloting the affairs of the PDP.

“The way the south-east leaders are going in protecting the interest of Atiku, it affects negatively the Atiku‘s camp in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari who may capture votes of angry Igbo youths or who may either join the Biafra agitators to boycott the election.

“This development will automatically sweep out potential voters sympathetic to Atiku off the polling units, thereby allowing President Buhari to get at least 40% of Igbo votes.

“From a credible source and a member of Ime Obi who spoke anonymously, insisted that, south-east governors hands are tied as they will not make financial contribution to Atiku project and may help President Buhari get at least 25% votes of , which will put the Atiku camp in danger.

“He insisted that the dangerous trend in working against Atiku is the alliance between Biafra agitators and leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths who were sidelined during the endorsement of Atiku Abubakar at Nike lake Enugu, and non-inclusion of clergy men, which may spell doom for PDP in , he stated.

Meanwhile, of Southeast Women Professional, Dr. Helen Ogbonnaya, said that the so called Igbo leaders who endorsed Atiku were induced and wondered why a man who had majority of supporters will opt for men who rarely vote during election.

She said, “Irrespective of these allegations of N3bn that exchanged hands in the Nike Lake and Igbo leaders endorsement of Atiku, the women group will mobilise for alternative candidate in , she said.
