Abubakar therefore, called on the clergies to pray and intercede for the peace and prosperity of the country especially now that the general elections are around the corner.
Mrs. Abubakar spoke in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state while consulting with the state chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) at the Governor’s office annex. She said Nigeria is in a critical state where only God can save her, stating that recent happenings in the country demand prayers and supplication for God to intervene.
“All over the world, people are keeping their eyes on this country knowing how strategic the country is to Africa, let’s pray that God would not allow the coming elections to be marred by violence,” she said.
Responding, the state chairman of CAN, Rev. Nduaesa Essien appreciated Mrs. Abubakar for deeming it fit to consult with the Christian body in the state, stating that anything committed to God cannot see shame.
Special prayers were offered for the campaign team by the fathers of faith.
