Ifeanyi Uba FC will welcome Kano Pillars FC on 17th of March in what will be a highly anticipated match. Although they narrowly lost to the Akwa United FC, Uba boys will be going in to the contest purely as favourites due to the number of points and goals they have scored so far in the NPFL league.
The Anambra based team are having a good season so far same as Kano Pillars which means that it will be a very tough encounter between the two formidable teams. Home advantage is the strongest card that Uba boys will pull on that day as they are known for their excellent home record.
Ifeanyi Uba FC lost their last away game against Akwa United as Mfon Udoh scored the only goal of the game in a highly captivating match. The Akwa Ibom based team grabbed their fourth win of the season to the detriment of the Anambra Warriors who were unlucky not to get any goal from one of their best away games.
Akwa United is a very strong side and as such, it was a very tough outing for Ifeanyi Uba FC and they are now unbeaten in their last four games after starting their league campaign in at a very slow pace.
Akwa United have not defeated the Anambra based team in three seasons prior to their eventual victory at their home ground in Akpabio International Stadium Akwa Ibom state; they have lost twice to the Uba boys after their 2-0 victory in 2016 and a narrow escape in 2017 when FC Ifeanyi Ubah ran away with a 1-1 in Uyo; but the reverse now seems to the case as they have now gotten their long awaited revenge.
Ifeanyi Ubah FC could have opened up a three-point gap between them and second-placed El Kanemi but due to their inability to beat AkwaUnited FC, they are now on the same match point with their closest rival Borno Army.
Kano Pillars are not to be toyed with as they have just lost a game in their last five games while Ifeanyi Uba FC have lost twice in their last five games.
The first game between Kano Pillars vs. Ifeanyi Uba FC was postponed prior to this upcoming match between them.they weren’t the only team affected as it was not just their match that was postponed but all that week’s matches.
With just four points separating them, Ifeanyi Uba FC will seek to keep their position at the top of Group B. Kano Pillars are not good at away games as they have managed to get just a point thus it might be a weakness that the Uba boys will capitalise on and get a maximum point.
One awkward thing between the two sides is that only hosts club always win except in 2015/2016 season when Ifeanyi Uba drew at home.
Ifeanyi Uba FC will hope to cling on to the top spot of group B as they hope to beat their visitor Kano Pillars on 17th of March at FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium at Umudim-Nnewi, Anambra state, Nigeria.
